What preps have been made?
I have already bought my ticket and one for Amiri. I will be renting a room as soon as I get some money. If I do it pretty early I am sure I can get a cheaper room than the one at the motel. OH! Badass! I found a super-cheap hotel like 10 minutes from the Adam's Mark. So I think I am going to get a room there. Since, I'm driving, this should be fine.

What is A-Kon?
If you are a anime geek in the southwest and haven't heard of A-Kon you have really been missing something. It is the longest running anime convention in the country! People cos-play, play video games, watch anime 24/7, go to awesome J-Rock concerts, and meet the manga artists themselves! It's quite the event. Oh, and did I mention that there a couple vendor rooms? They have all sorts of anime, J-snacks, and other geeky gear.

How many people are going with you?
Okay, so far we have two other people riding up with me. Only one of those person isn't a con volunteer though. So, there is one person who is going to be staying the room I've reserved so far. I didn't end up getting a room at the Adam's Mark. Instead, I rented a room at a Super 8 which is said to be about a 10 minute drive from the con. That doesn't sound bad to me, and it is going to be about 1/3 the price of staying at the Adam's Mark. If anyone is still interested in staying with me, just let me know. I am going to buy the tickets as soon as they are avaliable, so I will put up a price then. I will have my car so you won't have to haul you stuff around all day. (Yes, I know the soreness that comes from a full day of hauling a series of mangas around. Plus, how much you DON'T want to have to worry about that when you're at the concerts.)
Anyway, many of the details are already being taken care of. More soon to come!
